Lithuania police report violent incidents and widespread fraud

Lithuanian police have reported a series of violent incidents and widespread fraudulent activities across several cities. In Klaipėda, a woman injured a man with a knife during a conflict, while in Šiauliai, a dispute involving a firearm and an axe resulted in a man being hospitalized and several vehicles being damaged.

In Vilnius, authorities investigated an assault on a minor and a significant investment scam where a woman lost 15,600 euros to fraudsters.

Fraudulent schemes targeting residents continue to escalate. In Kaunas, Alytus, and Pakruojis, victims lost a combined total of over 103,000 euros after being deceived by individuals posing as investment service providers via telephone. Additionally, in Vilnius, an elderly woman was robbed of 11,000 euros by a woman who falsely claimed a relative had been involved in a traffic accident. Other reported crimes include a Telegram-based investment scam in Biržai and a failed granule purchase in Marijampolė.
