Lithuania reports rising inflation and 5.5% export growth

Economic data from the State Data Agency indicates a slight increase in inflation in Lithuania. In July 2026, consumer goods and services prices rose by 0.2% compared to June. While prices for clothing and footwear saw a significant decrease of 6.7%, costs for housing, water, electricity, and gas rose by 2%, driven largely by increases in wood fuel, natural gas, and electricity.

Regarding international trade, Lithuania's exports grew by 5.5% and imports by 6.0% during the first half of the year compared to the previous period. The growth in exports was primarily driven by mineral fuels, mineral oils, and their distillation products, which saw a 27.2% increase, alongside machinery and mechanical appliances. The largest export markets for Lithuanian-origin goods include Poland, Germany, Latvia, and the Netherlands.
