Lithuania to host Transport Security Forum to address hybrid threats

The Lithuanian Ministry of Transport and Communications is organizing a Transport Security Forum in Vilnius on October 1. The event aims to strengthen the preparedness of the nation's transport infrastructure against growing geopolitical challenges and hybrid threats.

Participants will seek solutions to protect strategic assets, including airports, railways, and the Port of Klaipėda, ensuring operational continuity during crises. Key topics of discussion include critical infrastructure protection, the implementation of anti-drone equipment, and the application of artificial intelligence.

The forum will bring together over 100 representatives from state institutions, transport companies, academia, and municipalities. Discussions will also address modern security concerns such as GPS interference and cyber threats. Additionally, the event will feature the ‘Vizija 0’ awards to recognize municipalities for advancements in road traffic safety.
