Lithuanian cultural sites receive European recognition
Lithuanian cultural institutions have received significant international recognition. The Kaunas City Museum has been designated as a European Film Culture Lobby by the European Film Academy. This distinction honors the museum as the birthplace of Vladislovas Starevičius’s pioneering stop-motion animation works, specifically noting the 1910 production ‘The Fight of the Stag Beetles’. This recognition places the museum alongside global landmarks like Rome’s Trevi Fountain.
In Vilnius, the European Chamber Music Academy (ECMA) session concluded with a public concert at the Vilnius City Hall. The session, hosted by the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, involved seven ensembles from ten countries, including musicians from Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, France, the Netherlands, and Japan. Lithuania is currently the only Baltic nation belonging to the ECMA.
