Lithuanian dermatologists warn of five signs of dangerous moles

Dermatologists in Lithuania urge the public to monitor moles for any changes that could indicate skin cancer. They recommend using the ABCDE rule – Asymmetry, Border irregularity, multiple Colors, Diameter larger than 6 mm, and Evolution over time – to assess whether a mole may be suspicious.

If any of these signs appear, or if a mole becomes itchy, painful, inflamed, swollen, or starts bleeding, they advise seeking a dermatologist promptly. Early detection of melanoma, which can also develop in rarely sun‑exposed areas such as the palms, between the toes, or under the nails, greatly improves treatment outcomes.
