Lithuanian drug suspect arrested in Valencia over 68 kg hash shipment

Spanish National Police detained a 61‑year‑old Lithuanian man in Valencia after he reported a lost passport. The police discovered an active European Arrest Warrant issued by Lithuanian authorities, accusing him of participation in a criminal network that moved more than 68 kg of hashish from Spain to Denmark, with the final destination in Sweden. Surveillance was set up around the Lithuanian consulate in Valencia, where the suspect had arranged an appointment to obtain a new passport, leading to his capture. He was placed before the Central Court of Instruction and ordered into pre‑trial detention pending extradition to Lithuania.

The case highlights cross‑border drug‑trafficking operations involving several European countries and the cooperation between Spanish police and Lithuanian judicial authorities.
