Lithuanian film festivals and classic screenings scheduled for September

Lithuania is hosting several cinematic events this September. The eighth annual ‘Lithuanian Film Classics Days’ will take place from September 15–17, spanning 48 cities, towns, and villages across the country. The event features free screenings of three recently restored films commissioned by the Lithuanian Film Centre: ‘Atsiprašau’ by Vytautas Žalakevičius, ‘Jo žmonos išpažintis’ by Algimantas Grickas, and the musical film ‘Kažkas atsitiko’ by Artūras Pozdniakovas.

Additionally, the ‘Scanorama Summer’ festival continues in Palanga at the Palanga Resort Museum. The program includes various international films, such as Bruno Dumont’s ‘Empire’, Miguel Gomes’ ‘Grand Tour’, and Quentin Dupieux’ ‘Second Act’. The festival aims to provide opportunities to discover European cinema in unique environments, combining film history with local cultural heritage.
