Lithuanian football hosts community tournaments and youth league finals

Lithuania hosted several football events recently, ranging from community integration tournaments to high-level youth league finals.

In Simnas, the ‘Dzūkijos taurė 2026’ integrative football tournament took place at the Simnas Gymnasium special education department field. Part of the UEFA ‘Grassroots week’ marathon, the event brought together students from the special education department, judo students from the Alytus District Art and Sports School, and youth from the Ringaudai community to promote social inclusion through sport.

On a competitive level, the Baltic Youth League (BYFL) U16 final is scheduled for September 27 at the VDU President Valdas Adamkus Sports Center. The match will feature Kaunas-based Be1 NFA and the Vilnius Football Academy. Both teams reached the final after successfully navigating group stages and knockout rounds against opponents from Estonia and Latvia. Coaches Edmundas Pukys and Karolis Uzėla highlighted the importance of the tournament for the development of young Lithuanian footballers.
