Lithuanian fuel prices remain stable despite falling crude oil costs
Fuel prices in Lithuania remain stable or show slight increases despite falling crude oil prices. Diesel prices on Monday morning fluctuated between 2.09 and 2.34 euros per liter, with an average of 2.20 euros. The lowest diesel price was recorded at a Neste station in Kaunas, while the highest prices were found at Viada and Circle K stations.
Gasoline prices averaged 1.91 euros per liter, ranging from 1.81 to 2.02 euros. LPG prices saw a slight increase of 1.23 percent compared to the previous Friday, averaging 0.86 euros per liter.
The discrepancy between falling crude oil prices and stable fuel costs is attributed to supply constraints in refined petroleum products. According to the International Energy Agency, the global supply of refined products like diesel is currently under pressure. Factors such as refining capacity, transportation, storage, and wholesale margins prevent the drop in raw oil prices from immediately lowering retail fuel costs.
