Lithuanian innovation: VILNIUS TECH racing trials and Portathon 2026
In Lithuania, various academic and industrial innovation initiatives are underway. The VILNIUS TECH Transport Engineering Faculty student team, ‘Transport Engineers by VILNIUS TECH’, is hosting a recruitment event on October 7. Participants will test their skills using racing simulators developed by the students to compete for spots on the team.
Additionally, the ‘Portathon 2026’ hackathon recently brought together over 100 professionals and creators to address maritime and industrial challenges. A standout team focused on a challenge presented by the Klaipėda State Seaport directorate regarding the use of green hydrogen within the European Union logistics chain. Algis Latakas, Director General of the Klaipėda State Seaport, noted that the event serves as an incubator for ideas aimed at creating a more sustainable and innovative future port.
