Lithuanian land tax deadline approaches for residents and businesses

The State Tax Inspectorate (VMI) has issued a reminder regarding the upcoming land tax deadline on November 16. All tax declarations for the current year have been prepared and are accessible via the Electronic Declaration System or the Mano VMI portal. For those not using electronic services, declarations have been sent by mail.

Tax officials emphasize that even if a resident does not receive a physical or electronic declaration, they are still legally required to pay the tax. Individuals are encouraged to contact the VMI information center to verify their calculated amounts rather than waiting for the deadline.

In the Klaipėda region, land owners in the city are expected to pay approximately 1.6 million euros, with 26,300 residents and 841 companies contributing to the total. As of early November, about 14,000 residents had completed their payments. In the Mažeikiai district, residents are responsible for 683,400 euros, while 314 companies owe 154,200 euros. The tax is owed by the person who owned the plot on June 30.
