Lithuanian land tax declarations issued for 2026
The State Tax Inspectorate (Klaipėda AVMI) has announced that private land owners must pay land taxes for 2026 by November 16. Tax declarations are available through the Electronic Declaration System (EDS), with notifications being sent via email. For those not using electronic services, paper declarations will be sent by mail and are expected to arrive by November 3.
In the Jurbarkas district, land owners are expected to pay a total of 637,600 euros, with approximately 7,500 residents contributing 598,400 euros and 109 companies paying 39,200 euros. In the Šilutė district, the total expected revenue is nearly 885,200 euros, consisting of approximately 705,000 euros from 12,100 residents and 180,200 euros from 204 companies.
A notable change this year involves the re-registration of surface water body coastal protection strips by the Center of Registers. Because these strips were re-registered based on actual measured areas, the taxable area for certain plots may have changed since 2020, potentially resulting in higher calculated land taxes. Other tax values remain consistent with those established for the 2023–2027 period.
