Lithuanian Media Support Fund marks 30 years of state funding

The Lithuanian Media Support Fund held its annual conference at the Martynas Mažvydas National Library in Vilnius, marking 30 years of state-level media support in Lithuania. The fund provides over 10 million euros annually to sustain the country's media landscape.

The conference brought together media policymakers, researchers, editors, and journalists from the Baltic and Nordic regions, as well as Poland, Germany, Ukraine, Hungary, and Israel. Discussions focused on the future of democratic media and models for ensuring long-term stability.

A key component of the program was a debate titled ‘Media in the Context of Artificial Intelligence Transformation’. Experts discussed the impact of AI on journalism, newsroom economics, and the power of Big Tech, alongside the effectiveness of current market regulations.
