Lithuanian military conducts regional exercises and live-fire drills

The Lithuanian military is conducting large-scale exercises across several regions from September 14 to 18. In the Elektrėnai municipality and surrounding areas, including Kaunas, Vilnius, Alytus, and Marijampolė, troops will engage in tactical tasks involving infantry, wheeled and tracked vehicles, and drones. These maneuvers are designed to train responses to various military threats. Notably, no simulated gunfire or pyrotechnics will be used in the Elektrėnai sector.

In the Klaipėda region, specifically at the General Povilas Plechavičius training ground, the Iron Wolf Infantry Brigade’s artillery battalion will conduct live-fire exercises directed toward the Baltic Sea. Residents in the Klaipėda and Neringa municipalities may hear artillery salvos between September 15 and 18, during the hours of 08:00 and 20:00. Additionally, military activities will include boat maneuvers on the Nemunas River between Birštonas and the Kaunas reservoir on September 17 and 18.
