Lithuanian National Museum to host Jan Bułhak photography exhibition
The Lithuanian National Museum (LNM) is launching a new exhibition titled ‘Between Light and Ruins: Jan Bułhak’s Vilnius Before and After the War’ at the Signatarian House Gallery on October 7. The exhibition commemorates the 150th anniversary of the birth of Jan Bułhak, a prominent interwar photographer.
The collection showcases two distinct eras of Vilnius through Bułhak’s lens: the architectural and scenic city he captured during his early years in Vilnius, and the war-torn capital he documented in 1944. This exhibition marks a new phase for the Signatarian House Gallery, which will now serve as a dedicated space for the LNM Photo Documentation Collection, featuring regular exhibitions of various authors, periods, and themes.
