Lithuanian NGOs launch nationwide food drive and blood donation initiatives

Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in Lithuania are launching major humanitarian initiatives. The Food Bank is conducting a large-scale autumn food drive involving 199 NGOs and 40 of its own branches. Approximately 7,000 volunteers will participate across 374 stores nationwide to collect food donations for those in need. Nine retail chains are participating in the effort.

In a separate initiative, the platform Aukok.lt is organizing a blood donation drive in Vilnius. Hosted at the Food Bank office, the event brings together the NGO community, volunteers, and business partners to support the Blood Center from VU Santaros Clinics. The drive aims to demonstrate the ability of the NGO sector to mobilize and provide direct life-saving assistance through blood donation.
