Lithuanian organizations launch new civic and labor initiatives

The Lithuanian Confederation of Trade Unions (LPSK) held a founding event for its Youth Forum in Vilnius. The forum aims to engage union members under the age of 35, fostering leadership skills and creating a collaborative network for young professionals across various sectors. While the forum's regulations and leadership elections were postponed to future meetings, the event focused on developing strategies to increase youth involvement in decision-making processes.

In the Vilnius district, the municipal council approved a cooperation agreement with the Lithuanian Riflemen's Union. This partnership is designed to strengthen civic education and prepare the community for potential crises or extreme situations. The agreement includes organizing training, camps, and marches for youth, as well as improving public skills in first aid and emergency response. Additionally, the municipality will provide the Riflemen's Union with former school premises in Rakonys village to serve as a base for training and meetings.
