Lithuanian President Nausėda warns Russian missile strike in Poland may recur

A Russian‑origin CH‑101 missile fell near the village of Tarnava‑Kolonia in eastern Poland, creating a crater about 10 metres wide roughly 80 km from the Ukrainian border. NATO confirmed the object was Russian, and Polish authorities opened an investigation. Prime Minister Donald Tusk said there was no evidence Poland was the target, noting that Polish forces had tried to intercept missiles heading toward their territory.

Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda said he had exchanged messages with Polish President Karol Nawrocki, expressing solidarity and offering help if needed. He warned that incidents like the missile strike could happen again as combat operations near the border continue, and urged stronger air‑defence capabilities across detection and interception levels.
