Lithuanian Prime Minister urges top graduates to keep Lithuania as their home

Prime Minister Mindaugas Sinkevičius addressed a government ceremony honoring high‑scoring secondary‑school and vocational‑school graduates. He praised their perseverance, curiosity and creativity, urging them to stay rooted in Lithuania and use their talents for the country’s future. Education, Science and Sports Minister Raminta Popovienė added that the nation needs their curiosity and courage to build a better society.

The ceremony recognised 839 young people who earned at least 100 points in state exams, including 635 who achieved a single‑hundred score, 140 with two, and a handful with three to six hundred‑point results. Symbolic gifts of historic Lithuanian flags were presented. A minute of silence honored a student from Ažulaukės village who died in a traffic accident on July 23.

The event highlighted the government’s focus on nurturing talent while reinforcing national identity among the country’s brightest youth.
