Lithuanian swimmers secure top finishes at European Championships
Lithuanian swimmers achieved notable results at the European Aquatics Championships in Paris. 16-year-old Ieva Jurkūnaitė finished fifth in the women's 200m freestyle final with a time of 1:57.26. This performance marks the second-best time of her career, trailing only her own national record. The gold medal in the event was won by Czech swimmer Barbora Seemanová, who set a new championship record of 1:54.38.
In the mixed 4x200m freestyle relay, the Lithuanian team consisting of Danas Rapšys, Tomas Navikonis, Sylvia Statkevičius, and Ieva Jurkūnaitė secured fourth place. The team recorded a time of 7:28.05. The British team took the gold medal, followed by Germany in second and the NAB team in third.
