Littelfuse announces AK-FL series TVS diodes for aircraft power systems

Littelfuse Japan G.K. has announced the AK-FL series, a new line of Transient Voltage Suppression (TVS) diodes designed to protect high-voltage power systems in aircraft and electric Vertical Take-off and Landing (eVTOL) vehicles.

Utilizing proprietary FlatSuppressX technology, these axial-lead diodes provide a flat and stable low clamping voltage during high-energy surge events. This capability helps prevent latch-up in sensitive semiconductor devices, such as Solid State Power Controller (SSPC) modules, within 270 V to 800 V DC power architectures.

The AK-FL series offers three surge current ratings: 6 kA, 8 kA, and 10 kA (8/20 μs). To ensure the high reliability required for aerospace and defense applications, the devices undergo 100% screening based on MIL-STD-750 testing methods and comply with RTCA DO-160 environmental standards.
