Little House on the Prairie revival spurs Minnesota fair and upcoming Netflix series

The town of Walnut Grove, Minnesota – the childhood home of Laura Ingalls Wilder – is hosting its annual Village Fair on three July Saturdays (July 11, 18 and 25). The free event features demonstrations, food and craft vendors, music, skits, seed‑art, corn‑husk doll making, mini‑golf, gunnysack races and a Laura‑Nellie Look‑Alike Contest for girls ages 8‑12. The centerpiece is the Wilder Pageant, an outdoor drama performed on Friday and Saturday evenings in a hillside amphitheater.

Separately, Netflix announced a new adaptation of Wilder’s books titled Little House on the Prairie (2026). All eight episodes of the first season will premiere worldwide on July 9, 2026. The series stars Alice Halsey as Laura Ingalls, Luke Bra… as Charles Ingalls, and Crosby Fitzgerald as Caroline Ingalls, and includes Indigenous actors Alyssa Wapanatâhk and Meegwun Fairbrother. Netflix has already ordered a second season before the debut.
