LittleOpera Festival in Zamora Premieres New Opera 'Él. De las tinieblas a la luz

The 11th edition of the Festival LittleOpera de Zamora took place in Zamora, Spain, featuring the world premiere of the one‑hour opera Él. De las tinieblas a la luz. The work was composed by Laura Vega and is based on the autobiographical novel by Mercedes Pinto. The production was staged under the artistic direction of Conchi Moyano, with stage direction by Rita Cosentino and music performed by the ensemble Alma Mahler under conductor Martín Jorge.

The opera was performed by a cast that included tenor David Alegret, whose performance was highlighted: “El tenor David Alegret resaltó con habilidad la cómica petulancia del Conde Bellavita”. Musical direction was also credited to José Miguel Román, and the costume design was created by Iker Giménez. Critics described the music as “más densa, con un toque melancólico y pasajes ligeramente dramáticos”.
