LIV Golf CEO says league will press on despite Saudi PIF funding pull
LIV Golf CEO Scott O’Neil told CNBC that the league will continue the 2026 season even though the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) has confirmed it will end its financial support after this year. O’Neil said the PIF has been a “terrific partner” and that the league will "take an incredible organisation like PIF at their word," but acknowledged the need to secure new investors, reportedly seeking $250‑350 million for a “LIV 2.0” plan.
The league’s schedule this summer includes events in the United Kingdom, New Jersey, Indianapolis and Michigan, while a planned LIV Golf Louisiana tournament was postponed. Players such as Bryson DeChambeau have offered to help find funding, but the future remains uncertain as LIV Golf looks for fresh capital to sustain its operations.
