LIV Golf faces investor uncertainty as Saudi backing ends

LIV Golf CEO Scott O'Neil announced that the league has signed a term sheet with a new lead investor, but the financing is contingent on retaining its marquee players. Insiders say many players have not yet committed to the league beyond the current season, and the investment – reportedly led by BC Partners' credit arm – depends on securing stars such as Bryson DeChambeau and Jon Rahm.

A recent New Jersey filing shows the creation of LIV Golf Bedminster LLC, the first standalone U.S. entity outside the league’s Delaware structure. The move suggests a restructuring strategy that could isolate assets and liabilities for each tournament, a step taken as the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) ends its direct financial support. The league aims to make players majority equity holders, but details of the new investor remain undisclosed.
