Live Nation and Cidade Center Norte to build Brazil’s first world‑class Arena São Paulo
Live Nation Entertainment and the mixed‑use development Cidade Center Norte announced a joint‑venture to construct the Arena São Paulo, Brazil’s first purpose‑built world‑class indoor arena. The 21,000‑seat venue will be located in the Cidade Center Norte complex in São Paulo’s North Zone and is scheduled to open in 2028 after construction begins in the second half of 2026. The project carries an investment of R$1.5 billion, making it the largest indoor arena in South America and the biggest covered entertainment space in the region.
The arena is designed by Blueprint Studio, the firm behind venues such as the Barclays Center, and will feature three tiers of seating, climate control, high‑performance acoustics and dedicated VIP areas. It will include parking for 2,000 vehicles and dedicated zones for ride‑hailing services. Live Nation expects the venue to host more than 200 concerts and sports events each year.
Economic forecasts from Oxford Economics project direct attendee spending of about R$817 million and an overall annual impact exceeding R$1.6 billion by the fifth year of operation, creating around 1,800 permanent jobs and boosting tourism, hospitality and related sectors. “São Paulo deserves an arena that reflects the energy, passion, and cultural influence of one of the world’s great cities,” said Michael Rapino, President and CEO of Live Nation.
