Live Nation to develop 5,000-capacity music venue in Melbourne
Live Nation has announced plans to develop and operate a new 5,000-capacity live music venue, named Arden Music Hall, at Arden Central in North Melbourne. Located approximately 1.5 kilometers from Melbourne’s central business district, the venue is expected to host more than 100 events annually.
The project is part of the first stage of the A$7 billion Arden Central development, a government-backed urban renewal precinct led by Hamton and Hostplus. The wider development aims to provide over 5,400 homes, retail, hospitality, and 5.5 hectares of open space. The venue will be designed by Live Nation’s in-house group, Blueprint Studio, in collaboration with architecture firm Populous.
Alex Klos, Live Nation’s President for Australia and New Zealand, stated that continued investment in venues is essential for Melbourne to remain competitive in attracting international touring artists. As part of the initiative, Live Nation will establish a Community Events Fund to support local artists and community use of the space, though specific details regarding the fund have not yet been released.
