Liver transported from Puebla to Mexico City for transplant

A liver procured in Puebla was successfully transported to Mexico City for a transplant procedure. The organ was obtained from the IMSS General Regional Hospital 36 following a multi-organ donation authorized by the family of a 7-year-old child diagnosed with brain death.

The transfer was facilitated through the ‘Donación en Movimiento’ agreement, involving coordination between state government institutions. State Police provided land escort to a helipad, after which the Emergency Medical Care System (SAMU) managed the 32-minute aerial transit to Mexico City.

The organ arrived at the National Institute of Cardiology before being moved by land to the Salvador Zubirán National Institute of Medical Sciences and Nutrition to continue the transplant process.
