Liverpool and Nottinghamshire approve major housing developments

Liverpool City Council approved a redevelopment plan for Rose Lane in Mossley Hill. Developers Falconer Chester Hall and Roman Summer Associates will demolish the 1927‑era building at 70‑72 Rose Lane and construct a new commercial unit and nine apartments, called Roseville Place, replacing the existing Turkish restaurant Gustum and Italian venue Bella Cucina. Residents voiced concerns about increased noise, loss of a historic street façade and reduced privacy, with one neighbor saying the project would "change the make‑up of the lane".

Ashfield District Council gave formal approval to MyPad’s outline scheme for 104 affordable homes on land off Mill Lane in Huthwaite, Nottinghamshire. The proposal, which had faced objections over traffic, flood risk, loss of trees and pressure on local services, was signed off after the developer met required financial contributions and made minor site adjustments. The new estate will consist entirely of affordable housing.
