Liverpool appoints Andoni Iraola as new head coach

Liverpool dismissed manager Arne Slot after a disappointing season that saw the club finish fifth in the Premier League and lose 20 matches across all competitions. Reports indicated tension between Slot and several recent signings from the German Bundesliga, with the Dutch coach allegedly making provocative remarks toward new players.

The club announced that former Bournemouth coach Andoni Iraola will take over as head coach starting in the 2026‑27 season.
