Liverpool becomes filming hub for new Channel 4 thriller and Netflix drama departure

The six‑part drama "The Gathering", originally made for Channel 4 and filmed around Liverpool, will leave Netflix on August 24 after winning three awards at the Monte‑Carlo Television Festival, including Best Series, Best Actor for Warren Brown and Best Actress for Eva Morgan.

A new Channel 4 thriller titled "Army of Shadows" is set to begin shooting at Liverpool Town Hall. Adapted by Ronan Bennett and directed by Lisa Gunning, the series stars Paddy Considine, America Ferrera, Kit Harington and others, and dramatises the emergence of a resistance movement in an occupied Great Britain.
