Liverpool City Region appoints Paul Buntin as interim director
The Liverpool City Region Combined Authority has appointed Paul Buntin as the interim director of regeneration and housing. This newly created position is tasked with leading the development and delivery of the region’s pipeline of housing and regeneration projects.
Buntin, who previously served as the head of development, has been with the combined authority since 2019. His professional background includes eight years at Merseytravel, where he held various roles focused on investment and transport development. He has a history of managing investment portfolios and securing funding through programs such as the City Region Sustainable Transport Settlements.
In his new capacity, Buntin will collaborate with six local authorities, private sector partners, and registered providers to shape policy and accelerate high-quality housing developments. His responsibilities include overseeing the Housing Investment Fund, managing retrofit programs for energy efficiency, and repurposing brownfield sites for new homes and business growth to support the Local Growth Plan.
