Liverpool coach Andoni Iraola outlines staff appointments and player opportunities
Liverpool head coach Andoni Iraola confirmed that his longtime colleague Pablo de la Torre will serve as his No. 2 assistant, joining him on the pre‑season tour of Chicago. He stressed the value of bringing three coaches from Bournemouth – Tommy Elphick, Shaun Cooper and de la Torre – to help him understand English football culture and support the squad.
Iraola also said every player will be treated like a new signing and that he intends to give the club’s youth prospects a chance. He highlighted the potential for forward Federico Chiesa, who has struggled with injuries at Liverpool, to regain confidence after Italy appointed Andrea Pirlo as national‑team manager. Pre‑season friendlies are expected to show how the new staff and player plans will translate on the pitch.
