Jeremy Jacquet completes £60m transfer to Liverpool
Jeremy Jacquet has officially joined Liverpool from Stade Rennais on a deal worth an initial £55 million, potentially rising to £60 million with performance‑related add‑ons. The 20‑year‑old French centre‑back signed a five‑year contract with an option for a sixth year, and his registration became effective on 1 July 2026.
Jacquet missed the latter half of the 2025‑26 season with a shoulder injury but has completed rehabilitation and has been cleared to take part in Liverpool’s pre‑season programme. He is expected to be ready for the start of the 2026‑27 campaign, providing competition for Virgil van Dijk alongside Joe Gomez and Giovanni Leoni in central defence. The signing follows the departure of Ibrahima Konaté to Real Madrid and is part of manager Andoni Iraola’s squad rebuild ahead of the new season.
The transfer underscores Liverpool’s strategy of investing in young, high‑potential talent to sustain their domestic title defence and European ambitions.
