Liverpool could activate £55 million buy‑back for Jarell Quansah

Liverpool retain a buy‑back clause of around £55 million for centre‑back Jarell Quansah, who left the club for Bayer Leverkusen after a £35 million transfer last summer. Reports say personal terms have already been agreed between the player and Liverpool, removing a key obstacle and allowing the club to decide quickly whether to trigger the clause.

Quansah, 23, progressed through Liverpool’s academy, made 58 senior appearances and won the Premier League and League Cup before moving to Germany for regular first‑team football. His performances at Leverkusen have earned England U21 recognition and could provide a replacement after Ibrahima Konaté’s contract dispute and departure. Liverpool are also preparing other defensive signings, but the potential return of Quansah offers a familiar, low‑risk option for their back line.
