Liverpool Council Unveils Expanded 2026 Christmas Markets and Ice Skating

Liverpool City Council has released its 2026 festive programme, awarding contracts to Underbelly and Icebox Live to run events at St George’s Hall and the Pier Head. A new outdoor rink, “Skate St George’s”, will be added to the historic hall, while the Pier Head will host the Liverpool Christmas Wonderland with an ice‑skating rink, thrill rides, games and other attractions.

The programme also includes a series of seasonal pop‑up markets featuring a wide range of local and independent traders at locations such as Basnett Street and the Cunard Building. The markets will operate from 15 November to 24 December, continuing a tradition that attracts more than 500,000 visitors each year.
