Liverpool faces injury crisis ahead of Manchester City clash

Liverpool faces an increasing injury list ahead of their upcoming match against Manchester City following the international break. Alexander Isak and Cody Gakpo were both forced to leave their national team duties early due to injuries. Isak sustained a thigh injury while playing for Sweden, though initial reports suggest it may be minor with a potential return around October 11. Gakpo suffered an ankle injury during a match with the Netherlands and is expected to be sidelined for several weeks, with a possible return in November.

Other injury concerns include Hugo Ekitike, who is recovering from Achilles surgery and targeting a comeback in November or December. Additionally, Dominik Szoboszlai was substituted during Hungary’s match against Georgia; however, manager Marco Rossi confirmed the issue was merely cramping rather than a more serious injury.
