Liverpool FC Supports LGBT Pride Parade, Fans React with Disappointment and Unfollows

Liverpool FC publicly announced its support for the LGBT+ community by joining the Pride Liverpool parade on 25 July 2026, marking 14 years since the club first participated in the event. The club also changed its Instagram profile picture to feature the Pride flag, signalling the commitment to inclusion, equality and diversity.

The announcement drew negative reactions from some supporters. Comments on the Instagram post included remarks such as, “Ini lebih memalukan dari pada kalah lawan MU… One more reason to join Arsenal…”, and fans posted messages like “-1 follower from Indonesia… Good bay Liverpool”. Several followers unfollowed the club’s account. Liverpool FC’s impact director Rishi Jain said the participation is part of a long‑standing program to foster an open and respectful environment for all.
