Liverpool midfielder Stefan Bajcetic returns to training after injury layoff
Stefan Bajcetic rejoined Liverpool's first‑team training during the club's pre‑season tour in Chicago, marking his first participation on the pitch since May 2024. The 21‑year‑old posted a two‑word Instagram caption, "Paid off," after the session, signalling that his long‑term hamstring rehabilitation is progressing.
Bajcetic, who underwent surgery in May 2025 and missed an entire season, had been on loan at Las Palmas before the injury recurrence. New head coach Andoni Iraola had earlier indicated that both Bajcetic and teammate Wataru Endo were close to training with the squad. The midfielder also recently became a father to twins, adding a personal milestone to his professional comeback.
Liverpool will continue to monitor his fitness closely, and his participation in the upcoming friendly against Sunderland is not guaranteed.
