Liverpool plans squad overhaul as Salah departs and eyes new wingers

Liverpool confirmed that Mohamed Salah will leave the club at the end of the 2025‑26 season and said it has no plans to retain the Egyptian forward, despite teammate Ahmed El‑Shenawy suggesting the situation could change. Salah’s agent reiterated the club’s decision and noted the player’s privacy.

The club is also scouting attacking reinforcements at the 2026 World Cup. Liverpool have identified French Monaco winger Maghnes Akliouche, who earned a call‑up for France and has been linked with a £45 million fee, and Portuguese AC Milan forward Rafael Leão as potential signings to add depth on both flanks. Additional interest includes other wingers who could provide cover for the departing Salah and other outgoing players.
