Liverpool pursue Anan Khalaili and Gilberto Mora as right‑back alternatives
Liverpool’s right‑back position remains unsettled after the departure of Trent Alexander‑Arnold. The club has been linked with Israeli wing‑back Anan Khalaili, who recently completed a €25 million move to Inter Milan from Union Saint‑Gilloise. Inter coach Cristian Chivu suggested the transfer could serve as a stepping‑stone toward a future move to Anfield.
Separately, Liverpool are monitoring 17‑year‑old Mexican forward Gilberto Mora of Tijuana. FIFA regulations prevent his international transfer until he turns 18 in October, and his contract with Tijuana runs to 2029. Despite these constraints, Liverpool have reportedly registered interest and could sign a pre‑contract, joining a list of European clubs also courting the prospect.
Both targets are seen as long‑term solutions to Liverpool’s defensive and attacking needs, though immediate acquisitions are unlikely due to contractual and regulatory hurdles.
