Liverpool pursue Leipzig winger Yan Diomande as Salah successor

Liverpool have officially contacted RB Leipzig about signing 19‑year‑old Ivorian winger Yan Diomande, positioning him as a possible replacement for Mohamed Salah. The club’s interest was confirmed by reports that the Reds have opened negotiations with Leipzig, whose asking price is expected to exceed €130 million. Diomande, who recorded 13 goals and nine‑to‑ten assists in the 2025/26 season, has attracted competing interest from Paris Saint‑Germain. In interviews he said, “Paris Saint‑Germain is a team I’ve loved since I was a child,” while earlier comments expressed his wish to play at Anfield. Fabrizio Romano reported that Diomande has given a “green light” for a summer move and that talks are ongoing with both Liverpool and PSG. The pursuit comes as Liverpool prepare for the post‑Salah era under new head coach Andoni Iraola and alongside other transfer targets such as winger Bradley Barcola and defender Josh Acheampong.
