Liverpool reject loan interest in Giovanni Leoni from Juventus and Inter

Liverpool FC has decided against loaning out 19-year-old defender Giovanni Leoni in January, despite reported interest from Italian clubs Juventus and Inter Milan. The club views the former Parma player as a significant part of their long-term defensive plans.

Leoni’s debut season at Anfield was severely impacted by a torn ACL suffered during a Carabao Cup match against Southampton. He has been undergoing rehabilitation and is expected to make a return to competitive action around October.

Liverpool intends to integrate Leoni into the squad as they manage the future of senior defenders like Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez. The club also recently acquired Jeremy Jacquet to bolster their defensive depth, and both young players are considered central to the team's future structure.
