Liverpool rule out January transfer for Valencia winger David Otorbi

Liverpool have reportedly ruled out a mid-season move for Valencia's teenage winger David Otorbi this January. While the Premier League club has been scouting the 19-year-old since October 2026 to address gaps on the right flank, Valencia has taken defensive measures to protect the academy graduate.

In response to interest from Liverpool, Valencia doubled Otorbi's release clause from approximately £25 million to £50 million and extended his contract to run until June 2031. Liverpool is currently prioritizing signings capable of making an immediate impact during the winter window and is reluctant to pay the increased fee for a developing player mid-season.

Otorbi has recently gained attention for his pace and versatility, including scoring his first senior goal for Valencia against Racing Santander. Although Liverpool maintains interest in the winger as a long-term prospect, a deal is considered unlikely until the summer transfer period.
