Liverpool set to hire Andoni Iraola as new manager

Liverpool has ended its collaboration with Arne Slot and is in advanced talks to appoint Spanish coach Andoni Iraola as his successor, according to Fabrizio Romano. The club reportedly has no other candidates and expects a deal to be finalised shortly, aiming to preserve its offensive playing style.

Iraola’s arrival could influence transfer negotiations involving Italian clubs. Inter Milan are monitoring the situation for midfielder Curtis Jones, whose contract runs to 2027 and whose renewal talks have stalled. Juventus are also watching, having reached a principle agreement for goalkeeper Alisson, whose future at Liverpool may depend on the new manager’s plans. Reports suggest Iraola may favour goalkeeper Georgi Mamardashvili, potentially opening the path for Alisson’s move to Turin.
