Liverpool target Brighton winger Yankuba Minteh as Salah successor
Liverpool are intensifying their search for a long‑term replacement for Mohamed Salah. The club have identified 21‑year‑old Gambian winger Yankuba Minteh, currently at Brighton, as their leading candidate. Minteh impressed in the 2023‑24 Premier League season with three goals and four assists in 34 appearances, showing the speed and directness required by manager Andoni Iraola.
Liverpool are preparing to make an initial offer to Brighton, with the southern club valuing Minteh at £70‑80 million. Negotiations are expected to be challenging, and the Reds also considered Yan Diomande of RB Leipzig as an alternative, but Minteh has emerged as the preferred option.
If the deal proceeds, Minteh could become the primary winger on the Anfield front line, filling the void left by Salah’s departure.
