Liverpool targets AC Milan defender Fikayo Tomori
Liverpool have opened direct negotiations with AC Milan to sign 28‑year‑old English international centre‑back Fikayo Tomori. Manager Andoni Iraola, who arrived from the Netherlands, is seeking a new experienced defender after the free‑transfer departure of Ibrahima Konaté to Real Madrid. Tomori is under contract with Milan until 2027, and the clubs are discussing a fee estimated at around €20 million.
The Reds view Tomori as a key addition to strengthen a defence that also includes Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Giovanni Leoni. While talks are still in early stages, interest from Newcastle United has also been reported, but Liverpool remain the primary suitor.
If the deal proceeds, Tomori would become Liverpool’s first major defensive signing for the upcoming season, addressing a critical squad need identified by Iraola ahead of the new campaign.
