Liverpool to host massive immersive Beatles attraction in 2028
Liverpool is preparing to launch a large-scale immersive attraction dedicated to the history of The Beatles, scheduled to open in 2028. Managed by Apple Corps Ltd., the project involves relocating and expanding 'The Beatles Story' museum from its current location at the Albert Dock to a much larger 9,300-square-meter facility in the former St John’s Market building near Lime Street station.
The new destination aims to provide an international-scale experience, utilizing immersive technology, original artifacts, and reconstructed sets. Key highlights include recreations of iconic locations such as the Cavern Club in Liverpool, Abbey Road Studios in London, and Shea Stadium in New York. The experience will trace the band's journey from their post-war childhoods through their formative years in Hamburg, Germany, to the height of Beatlemania.
In addition to historical objects, the attraction will incorporate elements from the four upcoming biographical films directed by Sam Mendes. Both Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr have expressed enthusiasm for the project, which seeks to strengthen the connection between the city of Liverpool and the band's global musical legacy.
