Liverpool warned of unrest if Isak and Ekitike sign new striker

Former Liverpool midfielder Bolo Zenden cautioned the club that signing another centre‑forward could leave current forwards Hugo Ekitike and Alexander Isak dissatisfied. Both players are dealing with serious injuries—Ekitike after a severe Achilles rupture and Isak with recurring fitness problems last season. Zenden highlighted that a new striker could cost around £80 million and risk benching two players who are already struggling for game time.

He noted Liverpool’s recent activity, including the £34.5 million arrival of Victor Muñoz and interest in other wingers, while stressing the need to keep Isak fit and manage Ekitike’s recovery. Zenden warned that mis‑management could create a “two unhappy players on the bench” scenario and affect the team’s attacking dynamics under manager Andoni Iraola.
