Liverpool welcomes Istanbul Breeze restaurant and Black Cat's fourth venue

Istanbul Breeze, a new Turkish and Mediterranean restaurant, opened on July 31, 2026 in Liverpool’s Queen Square, taking over the former Copacabana steakhouse. Owner Reza Nowrouzi said the venue, which seats about 120 guests across two floors, aims to recreate Turkish hospitality with live music, DJs and an al‑fresco dining area.

On the same day Black Cat Bar & Bottle Shop launched its fourth venue, Village Cat, in Woolton. The bar, run by co‑owners Andy Scott, Chris Welsh and Rich Midgley, occupies the former Coast Café Bistro premises and offers a relaxed, craft‑beer‑focused atmosphere that is not student‑heavy. The opening expands Black Cat’s presence in Liverpool after previous sites on Smithdown Road, Rose Lane and Parr Street.
